Ra "The Sun God"

I picked Ra "The Sun God" because I wanted to see what the Ancient Egyptians thought of the sun. I wanted to know how the Egyptians thought Ra controlled the sun. I also wanted to know why he has a hawk head. I want to find out what his pyramid was like.

Ra was the god of the sun. Ra lived on the Earth. They thought the sun was like fire, so the Egyptians thought that to travel through the waters in heaven and the underworld Ra had to have a boat. During the day the boat, "Madjet", came up in the East. By Manu a mountain also called "the mountain of sunrise". The boat went throught two sycamores. The trip was not easy. What the Egyptians thought as monsters would stop the boat. In the myth the Egyptians believed that as the day went on Ra got older. He then did not want to do his responsibilities and the people started to think he was not responsible. He then left and it became dark for night as we would call it.

Ra's temple would be a two story castle with a flag made of sheep wool. The castle would be 40ft by 40ft on both top and bottom floor. The castle would be made out of the finest materials in Egypt. It would be the color orange, just like the color of the morning sun. It would have a crank like device that two peasants pulled to lift Ra to the second floor. On the bottom floor there would be statues of Ra and all the people he liked. On the top floor would be all his treasures and riches, along with his tomb.
